We honored our local Police, Sheriff’s Department, EMS, and Firefighters. These First Responders were selected by their peers to receive the awards. Washington County Deputy of the Year: Jacob Faske. Brenham Police Officer of the year: Detective Bryan Morong. EMS – Paramedic of the Year: Zethaniah Putnam. Firefighter of the Year: Gene Swanke. We thank them for their dedication and service to the people of Washington County and Brenham.
Boys State Statemen for 2026
. Several came to our monthly meeting and regaled us about their experiences at Boys State. Each one said they enjoyed the experience and learned a lot about the way our government works. They each said they made new friends from other parts of the state and plan to keep in touch with them.
Kennith Mueller was awarded a certificate for 50 years of continuous American Legion Membership by Rich Huntley Department of Texas Commander.
